According to good old Auntie Beeb it looks like its going to happen.... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/8493137.stm. £2 million quid doesn't seem like alot of investment though does it!?.....

Yes it might not be that much money, but some of the better energy companies had already started to introduce such a system anyway, I know for a fact that Hydro brought in something like this when it started in england.

Oh dear I was looking for some of the different companies offering an extra £400 on top of the government's own £400, and it seems that some of the energy companies' own engineers are giving estimates on the values of boilers, that vary wildly different to the ones that independent engineers give, often meaning people aren't getting quite the deal they thought they were, when they first agreed. It's not my job to name & shame here, but follow the links and you'll find what I'm talking about.

That doesn't sound too good John. The UK boiler scrappage scheme has been closed with 125,000 vouchers given out in three months. Its pretty hard to pin down when this is going to start in Scotland, in the meanitime (as you point out) some of the decent energy companies are offering their own schemes, ie the gas boiler scrappage scheme from SSE Home Services, seems like a decent deal..........
